Control up to 16 Devices over IP

Using the remote control relays with in the client software, you can connect to the alienHybrid via a PC or laptop and switch up to 4 devices on or off. When used with IP cameras, the alienHybrid can trigger a relay for each one - up to a total of 16!

These relays can control lights, gates, bell boxes and sounder devices such as the VoiceOff alarm-activated sound and voice warning unit or other suitable devices to detect intruders or give access to bonafide visitors.

For example, you may see an intruder on site and want to warn them off by triggering a sounder from the comfort of your office or even from your home miles away.

Real -Time Remote Viewing & Playback

Use Internet Explorer or the free CCTVwindow client software to view live images from your alienDVR. The CCTVwindow software even allows you to access previously recorded files for playback in real-time.

Using H264 compression technology makes the alien ideal for remote monitoring in real-time over the internet as files are compressed to save you bandwidth and drive space without losing image quality.

H264 compression is used by sky HD and Blu-ray.

Each camera channel is completely configurable to your exact needs with the option to select key parameters on each channel depending on the location and purpose of that camera.

In a busy retail environment, it is key to see everything that is happening so using a real-time record rate of 25FPS means you'll never miss a thing.

A camera at a car park entrance might be set to the highest D1 record quality to allow vehicle identification but using a lower frame rate will not lose any vital evidence.

Easy to Use Client Software

The CCTV Window software is easy to use with its intuitive and friendly layout.

Supplied free with the DVR, it enables users to remotely connect to the alien over a LAN (local area network) or over the Internet.

Users can see live images, playback recorded ones and even control PTZ cameras or switch on lights! Often the alien may be installed in a "safe location" for users to access the DVR menus and watch real-time images solely via a networked PC. Password protection allows complete control of user rights.

Video Motion Detection & Alarm Notification

Video Motion Detection (VMD) built in to the DVR means it's easy to further extend the record time of this superb DVR by recording event-only activations. The smart electronics can also capture video BEFORE motion is detected in its buffer system so you can see what happen immediately prior to the detection of movement.

The really clever stuff though is the user Alarm Notification.

When an event occurs by VMD or any other alarm input, the alien is triggered and a warning sent to be remotely displayed on the users PC to alert them of an intrusion or event.

Great for remote monitoring of remote areas or sites.

Intelligent Recording

Record more Footage when it Matters

The alienDVR range has an intelligent alarm recording function that allows any camera channel with video motion detection set to have a background recording frame rate and an alarm recording frame rate.

So when a surveillance area is inactive or no motion is detected, the camera channel can be set to a recording rate of just 1FPS. This might typically be for a camera in a store cupboard.

� real-time recording of 25FPS when motion is suddenly detected, ie, someone enters the store cupboard.

Saves hard drive space, giving you longer recordings!

2 Zone Talkback Function

Warn off intruders as soon as they are detected, using the 2-way Talkback feature - even from a remote location.

By connecting a microphone locally to the HVR and wiring a loudspeaker system such as the VoiceOff from the HVR to a surveillance area, the CCTV operator can talk back to 2 separate zones.

This feature can be used for security purposes to warn off an intruder for business and property management purposes by using it to communicate with a visitor at the entrance gates.

For the majority of businesses that are not manned 24/7, using the Talkback feature gives the owner/manager an extra pair of eyes and voice even when they are not there. If an intruder breaks into the property or its perimeter during the night, they can be alerted by an alarm input such as a break beam detector and then “warn off” the intruder.

Real-Time Recording of Video & Audio

The ability to record real-time sound and vision continuously puts the alien in a league of its own when combined with its other innovative features.

Control Over PTZ Cameras

The alienDVR can easily be configured to control the Pan-Tilt-Zoom movement of any compatible PTZ camera connected to it. It works with most protocols including the popular PELCO P or D but a full list is available at www.aliendvr.com

Use the alienDVR on-site to control the PTZ via the DVR menus or via a PC on the LAN using the free CCTVWindow.com software. Connect to and control PTZ cameras over the internet again using the free CCTVWindow.com software.

Finally control your PTZ using your smart phone and any of the free mobile apps available for the alienDVR. Download links for mobile apps can be accessed on the aliendvr.com website and are available for iPhone, Android, BlackBerry, Windows and Nokia/Symbian models.

Example - The shop manager can use his broadband at home to connect to the DVR at work and zoom into an area if something suspicious is seen. Even on a mobile phone, PTZ control is possible with the alienDVR!

Easy Back-Up of Data

With the alienDVR, it�s quick and easy to back up vital evidence when an incident occurs.

Using the CCTVwindow client software supplied free with your DVR, you can back up files straight to a PC or laptop over a local area network (LAN) or over the internet. Once copied, these images can be stored for later viewing or copied onto another device from your PC.

Multiple DVRs Managed as One

The CCTV Window software allows simultaneous connection to multiple DVRs.

Images from separate DVRs can be displayed on a single screen on your PC or laptop.

For example, - A head office of a retail chain could view images from up to 16 of its branches simultaneously.

Remote Data Store

The Network Video Recorder Software module is a superb option for CCTV system owners who depend on their CCTV system for their business to operate or to ensure public safety. In addition to its own on-board storage, the alienDVR range can also back files to a PC or server.

The Network Video Recorder software module is installed on the PC, which allows it to simultaneously record live images from the cameras connected to the DVR as a secondary back up. Network Video Recorder software can connect to more than one DVR so it can record from multiple DVRs at once.

The benefits for using this optional software are a dual-back up, a failsafe operation and increased storage capacity. For users such as councils, the software enables the police to take away a massive amount of video data after a major incident without necessitating the removal of the actual DVR units. Each DVR channel can be configured to be recorded in half hour blocks in any 24-hr period, 7 days a week.

Allocate Different User Levels & Rights

Totally flexible - you can set up users and their rights to suit your application.

Admin user
You may assign key people full or part admin rights enabling them to make any changes to the configuration or set up to the DVR.

Engineer
You may assign an engineer full or part admin rights so that they can make changes to the DVR but may not see key cameras or sensitive video data.

Managers
You can assign managers different rights so that they could perhaps see live images and also playback images from all or selected cameras. It�s possible to hide cameras from any user.

E-mail Notification of an Alarm Event

When an alarm event is triggered such as motion detection or from an alarm input such as a PIR, break beam detector or even a door bell, the alien can be configured to send a series of e-mails to a chosen e-mail address.

The DVR sends an email with 3 JPEG attachments showing the “activated” CCTV camera image taken before, during and just after the alarm event occurs.

*Mobile phone service plan must have e-mail configured.

Multi-layered Electronic Mapping of Sites

eMaps can be embedded into the superb CCTVwindow software to enable the user an easy way to select and see images from a camera in a simple & intuitive graphical user interface.

Think of the eMap as a building schematic or pictorial representation of a site where CCTV is installed then overlaid with the CCTV camera locations.

Using the mouse, you can click on a camera enabling live images from it to be displayed, if it's a PTZ camera you could also control its movement.

You can have exterior eMaps, interior eMaps, overall site eMaps and even individual room eMaps! This ultra flexible approach makes monitoring even the largest of CCTV sites effortless.

Auto Time Synch

The alienDVR can be configured to have its time and date regularly updated via a networked PC. On installations with multiple DVRs, all the DVRs can be automatically updated so that they are all in Synch with each other.

Accurate time and date can be vital when evidence is needed from the DVR, the alien makes it easier for the user to automate this important task that could easily be overlooked otherwise.

Instant Detective

- allows you to select a specific area in an image recording and search it for video motion detected events.

For Example
A car is stolen from a car park. Instant Detective allows the CCTV operator to select the area in the camera�s image where the car had been parked and look for video motion detection within a given time slot that occurred only in the depicted area. Any activity within that area of the camera�s recorded image can quickly be accessed and saved for vital video evidence.

Instant Detective is a great feature for recordings captured in busy public places such as stations or airports as it can be used to limit the time spent by an operator or the police reviewing hours of recorded footage. Currently this feature is unique to the Hybrid and can be operated within the HVR and CCTVwindow software.

Unsurpassed HDD Management

The alienHybrid has unsurpassed HDD management allowing critical cameras to be allocated certain drives for recording.

For example, a key camera overlooking a till can be allocated 1 drive for its recording whilst remaining cameras can be left with the remaining drives to share. The benefit would be that the till camera has an extended recording period before it will overwrite.

This feature is further enhanced with the “Duplicate” drive recording facility, where the HVR can be managed to make 2 drives record the same images, thus creating a back up within the HVR itself in case of a hard drive error.

Where file back ups are required for evidence purposes, quick copies can be made on to a USB stick or using the DVR's built in CD/DVD writer.

If an immediate copy of evidence cannot be made, the DVR has a “File Lock” facility to prevent a recorded file from being overwritten completely. This can be unlocked once it is certain that a copy has been made.

Alarm Signals over IP

On IP cameras the trigger is sent to the HVR over the network requiring no additional wiring back to the HVR.

Each camera including any connected IP cameras can be linked to an alarm input such as a PIR, break beam, door contact or panic button to activate recording from that camera. An intelligent buffer system retains recorded footage from prior to the event occurring as well as for the predefined alarm time.

Recordings can also be triggered for video loss and tampering so if a camera is damaged, this will be seen as an alarm and footage will be retained from prior to the damage.

This feature is further enhanced by the ability to activate relays to control sounders, strobes, lights, voice warnings to deter suspected intruders.
